We originally started keeping dairy goats as a source of high-quality dairy products for our own home use.  We believe that goat milk is easier for humans to digest than the milk of other species, and home-grown products are less likely to contain pesticides and antibiotic residue than store-bought.  This year's project is perfecting our cheesemaking technique-- we're trying various aged and mold-ripined varieties.

We raise our own pork and lamb with the surplus milk, and butcher most of the young male goats.  Last year we leased a Boer buck to raise our own half-Alpine meat goats, and were so thrilled with the results we have purchased a young Boer buck and will be using him on several of our does this year.

Goat milk is also used to make fine quality soaps.  Cat Dreams Soap uses our goat milk exclusively to make their excellent products.  If you are interested in trying goat milk soap, you may visit Judy Scher's home page to learn about Cat Dreams Soaps.  Judy also uses our goat manure in her worm farm and organic vegetable garden!

 To experience your own home-grown dairy products, ask us about adult milking does as well as our young breeding stock.
 
We also have a small flock of colored Shetland sheep, and occasionally have young ewes  and rams for sale.
